Ellie is on the line-up to perform at this year's JD Set, Jack Daniels' annual birthday gig. The gig takes place on the 7th October at The Clapham Grand, London. The line-up also includes Jarvis Cocker, Richard Hawley and Duane Eddy. Ellie will perform some of her original material and also some other material as well as possible collaborations. You can't buy tickets for this special gig, but you can win them at the JD Set website!

For all you lovely visitors who are from the US, there's some good news finally! Ellie's digital EP An Introduction To Ellie Goulding will be released both digitally and physically in the US on Cherry Tree Records (the same label as Lady Gaga), an imprint of Interscope Records. This will be followed up in spring of 2011 by the proper release of Ellie's debut album Lights. It will be a special version of the album, but no word on what will be added yet. Keep an eye out! And finally, the best part. Ellie will be playing two debut US shows this September in support of the release of the EP. They will be in LA and New York - dates are below and tickets go on sale this Friday. On the 12th August Ellie will be doing another session at Metropolis Studios in London. The session is in association with SEAT as part of their On Track...with SEAT series of recordings. The session again will be recorded straight to vinyl. No word on if that vinyl will ever be available to buy, but it will be broadcast on Channel 4 at some point. The EP will contain some promising unreleased remixes and is inspired by Ellie's love of running. You might have seen mentions of Ellie recording a track with Tinie Tempah and Labyrinth. The track will appear on Tinie Tempah's forthcoming album Disc-Overy, which is due to drop around 4th October (likely to change!). The track Ellie featured on is called Wonderman, so keep an eye out for it!
Ellie is bravely running the BUPA Great North Run this year for the British Heart Foundation. You can sponsor her run over at this link! 34% of all deaths last year were as a result of cardiovascular disease and it is the biggest killer in the UK. Any donation made goes straight to the British Heart Foundation, whose research and work is invaluable in the effort to help treat and prevent heart related diseases. The support acts for Ellie's massive November tour have been confirmed as Sunday Girl and Bright Light Bright Light. Both are electro-pop, so they should go down pretty well. Bright Light Bright Light's first single release is titled Love Part II, which is going to be one of the first releases on the new PopJustice Hi-Fi label! For anyone wondering what happened to the song Not Following You that was one of the first tracks we heard from Ellie, well wonder no more. The song was actually re-recorded by the German solo artist Lena, aka the winner of this year's Eurovision. You can hear her version of it on spotify. Ellie's main producer, co-writer and generally brilliant bloke Starsmith is set to film the video for his first single tomorrow. The song seems fairly certain to have Ellie as a guest vocalist on the song, not sure how much but it seems likely! Keep an eye out. The single will be taken from Starsmith's upcoming debut EP, so keep an eye out. It's bound to be pretty amazing!

To celebrate the launch of Best Buy in the UK, Ellie will be headlining the first of a series of gigs at the IndigO2. I'm sure it'll chart higher in the next few weeks as more people hear it, but make sure you do your bit and buy it if you haven't already! The iTunes festival is a series of intimate gigs that take place over 31 nights every day in July at the Roundhouse in London and features over 62 acts. Starry Eyed has now spent a month in the top 5! It charted at number 5 yesterday which is a great achievement without even considering where Ellie's come from. Lights stayed in the top 20 but slipped one place to 17. Keep buying it!

Ellie is set to play the FIB Heineken festival this year which takes place in, you guessed it, Benicassim, Spain. The festival takes place between the 15th and the 18th of July. No word on which day she's playing yet. Tickets are available here!
One of Ellie's songs is set to appear on the soundtrack to the forthcoming film Kick-Ass. The teenage superhero film features Nicolas Cage, so it has to be good, right?
Starry Eyed has stayed in the number 4 position for the third week running! For a debut single that isn't half bad and we could see it sticking around as more and more people hear it. Lights slipped all the way down to 16 - if anything that really shows what a fantastic first week Lights had. I'm sure it'll be bouncing around the album charts for a while though. Buy it if you haven't already!
